What is Dissolution of Co-ownership?

An action brought to end co-ownership of property held in shares or in common.

Also known by its older name. The court first considers whether division in kind is possible; if it is not, it orders distribution by sale. The sale is carried out by the enforcement office at public auction and the proceeds are distributed in proportion to the shares.
