Severance and Notice Pay Calculator

Work out your severance pay, notice pay and untaken annual leave from your start and end dates and your gross wage including benefits.

Severance pay is calculated on 30 days of gross wage including benefits for each full year of service. The tool below calculates severance pay, notice pay according to the notice period, and pay for untaken annual leave together, and shows the stamp duty deduction separately.

How the calculation works

  • Severance pay: Gross wage including benefits × total years of service. Part-years are apportioned by day. The result cannot exceed the severance ceiling in force on the date of termination.
  • Notice pay: Two to eight weeks' wages according to service (up to 6 months 2 weeks, 6–18 months 4 weeks, 18–36 months 6 weeks, over 36 months 8 weeks).
  • Annual leave pay: Number of untaken days × daily gross wage.
  • Deduction: Only stamp duty of 0.759 per cent is deducted from severance pay; no income tax or social security premium is withheld.

What is the gross wage including benefits?

It is found by adding to the bare gross wage the monthly share of regularly recurring side payments (travel, meals, bonuses, social assistance). Overtime, annual leave pay and one-off bonuses are not included in this calculation.
