What is Probation?
An institution of enforcement and measures keeping a person under supervision and obligations within the community.
It is applied together with institutions such as suspension of the pronouncement of judgment, deferral and conditional release. Obligations may be imposed, such as attending a training programme, being banned from certain places or working in a job. Failure to comply results in the suspended sanction being applied.
