What is Attachment?

Seizure of the debtor’s assets by the enforcement office in order to collect a debt.

Movables, immovables, wages, bank accounts and claims held against third parties can all be attached. But, apart from valuables such as money and gold, the personal belongings of the debtor and of family members living under the same roof and all household goods in the family’s shared use, a retirement pension (as a rule) and three quarters of a wage cannot. A complaint may be made against the record of attachment.
