What is Court Expert?
A specialist who gives an opinion to the court on matters whose resolution requires special or technical knowledge outside the law.
The judge cannot leave the legal assessment to the expert; the expert gives an opinion only on technical questions. The report may be challenged within two weeks; on a challenge a supplementary report may be obtained or a new panel of experts appointed.
