What is Compulsory Enforcement?

Collection of a debt from the debtor’s assets by force, using the power of the state.

It is conducted under the Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law and consists of the stages of attachment, sale and distribution of the proceeds. The debtor’s consent is not required; but protective rules apply, such as assets that cannot be attached and the one-quarter ceiling on attachment of wages.
