What is Waiver of Claim?
The claimant abandoning the relief sought, wholly or in part. It has the effect of a final judgment and bars a fresh case on the same matter.
A waiver is a unilateral act and does not depend on the other side accepting it. An admission, by contrast, is the defendant declaring that the claimant’s claim is well founded. Both bring the proceedings to an end, but the consequences for costs differ.
